Lockerbie case could end in possible release

The Scottish High Court is deliberating whether to grant Abdel Basset al-Megrahi, a Libyan man jailed for the 1998 airline bombing over the Scottish town of Lockerbie, an early release on compassionate grounds or transfer him to a Libyan prison.

The Libyan government has appealed to the Court to consider the two options as al-Megrahi is suffering from advanced prostate cancer.

Iranians continue to protest against an election they believe was stolen.

Disturbing images of a teenager dying on the streets of Tehran have appeared on the internet. It is not possible to confirm what happened to the girl known as “Neda”.

However, Iran state television says at least 13 people were killed in clashes on Saturday.
