Women ‘win’ Afghan vote

Few Afghan women ventured out to cast their ballots in country’s election, but several ran in provincial elections alongside the presidential poll.

Crimes charges against Iran sought

Payam Akhavan, a former UN war crimes prosecutor at The Hague and co-founder of the Iran Human Rights Documentation Centre, is working on a petition to send to the UN Security Council and The Hague – that will look into Iran’s post-election violence.

In an interview to Al Jazeera from New York, Akhavan said: “the Iranian regime can’t continue to suppress people unless they resort to mass murder”.
