Khmer Rouge war crimes trial begins

Kaing Guek Eav, also known as Duch, has appeared before a UN-backed tribunal in Cambodia charged with war crimes during the violent reign of the Khmer Rouge in the 1970s.

Al Jazeera’s Selina Downes reports on the landmark trial and what it means to survivors of the infamous “killing fields”.
