Dangerous journey to escape from Zimbabwe


Desperate to escape the crisis in Zimbabwe, where almost a thousand have died from cholera, hundreds of Zimbabweans are crossing illegally into South Africa every day.

But the journey is dangerous. Armed bandits are roaming the border.

Truce fails Palestinian resident


Despite a truce between Israel and Hamas, residents in the Gaza Strip still suffer. Deposed Palestinian prime minister Ismail Haniya is due to announce whether Hamas will extend a six month truce with Israel soon. Al Jazeera’s Sherine Tadros reports.

Supplies for troops in Aghanistan are under threat


Taliban fighters in Pakistan have fired at a convoy of trucks transporting supplies to Western forces in Afghanistan. Itis the latest in a string of attacks along the treacherous Khyber Pass.

Attackers have torched hundreds of trucks along the mountainous route – the most important supply line for Western forces – in recent weeks.
